I was at my Aunt’s last weekend and she showed me an article on Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet. I think this music is fantastic, it’s a really interesting juxtaposition of traditional Chinese folk music as well as American folk music. Not to mention, Abigail’s voice is incredible. The quartet consists of 2 banjos, cello, and violin. Despite the oddity of having 2 banjos, the musicians have done a pretty good job of melding the two folk styles together. Check out “Strange Things” and go buy the album!
