
New Jersey born and raised, Sarah has had an intense desire to play music since the very beginning of her life. She began studying classical violin at the age of 6 after insisting upon playing the “fiddle” to her parents while watching an episode of Sesame Street. At age 11, she began studying classical violin at the Monmouth Conservatory under the instruction of Irena Kovalski. Sarah also spent a great deal of time playing in chamber groups as well as the New Jersey State Youth Orchestra.
Throughout High School, Sarah reached to expand her musical interests and began recording original songs as well as local artist’s music. All of this experience has led her to her current location in Boston.
Now, Sarah is Majoring in Music Technology at Northeastern University. In her studies she is actively experimenting with genres, styles, and compositional techniques. Having two more years left in the technology program, she has payed attention to her inner voice telling her to play the “fiddle” and has developed a profound interest in folk music and in music of cultures. A minor in Ethnomusicology has brought Sarah to meld modern and traditional aesthetics and techniques into her own music.
